Introducing Conversations

Since eM Client 6 was released you have started putting out requests for features that should be included in the upcoming release and now we’re finally ready to share more details about the next version. We'll be releasing a series of posts introducing the new features.

Conversations

Conversations

Conversation view has been a very requested feature for eM Client, we’re very excited to finally introduce this feature in the new release of eM Client 7. We worked on this feature very hard and very long but we’re very happy that we can finally share more information.

The current releases have included a Conversation history which may have served instead of conversations up until now, we still like this feature so if you were using it - you will be able to display your past conversations in the sidebar as well. If you didn’t like this feature we’re introducing two new ways how to handle conversations.

in All Views

Using this option you’ll be able to see your previous conversations in your message list as a message with one or more recipients - displaying the number of messages in the conversation. You may be used to this behaviour from your Gmail interface already. New conversations are sorted in the list of your messages by the last message received in this conversation.

in Message Detail

This option will allow you to use your email as you were used to, each message received is sorted in your folders and message detail displays the past relevant conversation based on the message subject.

If you’re not fan of conversations you can simply disable conversations in your settings and use the sidebar conversation history instead.

Translate Incoming Messages

Translation

The new release of eM Client 7 will include a new option for translating your emails. Whenever you receive a message in a different language than your application language, eM Client will offer you the option to translate the message to the application language or your selected language.

This feature is powered by the Bing translator Tool. You can find the option in the application settings under Menu > Tools > Settings > Mail > Translation where you can also setup the default behaviour for different languages.

What to expect in eM Client 7: Vacation responder

Since eM Client 6 was released you have started putting out requests for features that should be included in the upcoming release and now we’re finally ready to share more details about the next version. We'll be releasing a series of posts introducing the new features.

Vacation responder

Vacation Responder

Are you leaving the office temporarily and need to setup an automated reply? We have good news for our Exchange users, as eM Client 7 features a new option that allows you to setup automated replies directly from eM Client.

By navigating through the application Menu to Tools, use the new Vacation Responder tool and setup the responder’s schedule and your custom reply, the subject or even target the automated responses to your contacts only.

Unfortunately, this option is only available while using an Exchange account as most major services do not provide means to set up this option outside of their user interface.

What to expect in eM Client 7: QuickText

Since eM Client 6 was released you have started putting out requests for features that should be included in the upcoming release and now we’re finally ready to share more details about the next version. We'll be releasing a series of posts introducing the new features.

QuickText

QuickText

QuickText is a new addition to Templates and Signatures as an additional option how to prepare and predefine snippets of text that you can quickly insert into your new messages as well as replies.

Difference between our current Templates features and QuickText is that templates have to be predefined and you can only use a template for all your replies or none. Up until now, there was no way how to add a template text into a reply. Our developers have worked on this to introduce an improved way how to handle predefined text on your replies and we're hoping this will ease your way how to work with templates and predefined text and save you a lot of additional work.

QuickText settings can be found in the Mail application settings under Tools > Settings > Mail.

Is he typing?

Is Typing Feature

Since our application is going through a complete re-design of both the user interface as well as the application core features we decided to enhance our chat a little as well.

The new eM Client 7 will allow you to see not only if your chat contacts are online, away or offline but it allows you to see if they are typing as well. Not only that, we’re including a couple of new status options while using the chat feature. eM Client can spot the difference if the contact has stopped typing or if he/she closed the chat window as well.
